All Black Everything

I’m starting to freak out a little (okay a lot) about New York Fashion Week. It’s only a handful of weeks away! And I feel totally unprepared.

I just booked a photographer (get excited for the photos!!!) but still have tons of outfits to style. Six to be exact. I’m basically a weird combination of excited and nervous.

I’m also a super cool kid who’s totally bring her mom to NYFW. Okay not like into the events, but I convinced my mom to take the trip with me! We went to LA together last year (here and here) and it was way too much fun. She’s ridiculous but hilarious.

Mama has family out in Jersey so it’s like the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time. I’m also a now 25 year old who’s mom is her bestie so taking her was a no brainer.

Told you I’m a super cool kid.

I’ve been picking up pieces for New York here and there, but I honestly think my fave piece so far is this pair of pants from ASOS. They’re like this amazing moto style. They’re also super stretchy which is basically pants 101 for me.

If I’m not comfortable I’m basically a troll, so spandex is a necessity.

I told myself I wouldn’t wear any NYFW pieces before I head to New York, but these pants were too good to not. They also took me way back to my college days when I wore all black everything all. the. time.

This has got to be my fave outfit I’ve shot in the 1.5+ years I’ve been blogging. It took me back to my all black roots from my days behind the MAC counter. My entire wardrobe in college had to be black because you were only allowed to wear black in the makeup industry. I def didn’t have the cash in college to buy a work wardrobe and a personal wardrobe – so all black everything it was.

I paired my moto pants with this old top from J. Crew like a million seasons ago (similar here and here). I also found this amazing faux fur snood from Old Navy for literally $6 (similar here).

The inexpensive nature of the rest of my outfit makes up for the fact that I spent an unholy amount of cash on this Louis Vuitton bag.

Kinda thrifty, kinda not.

I’m also thinking of vlogging my trip to New York. Thoughts? Starting a new year is a great opportunity to try new things. Some video content for you guys might be fun!
