Alright guys. We’ve talked about it time and time again.
I love all black outfits.
Love ’em. Pretty sure it stems from my days behind the counters at MAC and Bare Escentuals. I worked in cosmetics all through college and the uniform was all black everything. I don’t know about you but I had zero extra money in college for a “work wardrobe” and a “school wardrobe.” Therefore everything was black.
Today I want to talk about the fine art of styling an all black outfit. It’s chic, it’s always in season, and it’s pretty easy.
Nothing beats a black skinny pant.
A black pant in a flattering, slim silhouette is my number one wardrobe staple. You can build entire wardrobes around a well fitted pair of black pants.
I’ve been super into this pair from American Eagle. I have a love affair with AE because I’m 4’11” tall and it’s nearly impossible to find pants I don’t have to hem – but AE makes “shorts.”
Also the AE pair are technically jeggings aka lots of spandex aka food babies allowed.
Find flirty silhouettes.
Black can go from serious to feminine just by playing with flirty silhouettes. I love to pick all black pieces that have a girly shape with lots of movement.
The top I wore for this shoot is an oldie from ASOS but a favorite. I’ll seriously wear this top until it gets holes. Unfortunately it’s so old I can’t link it for you guys but I found some similar styles here, here, and here.
All black everything…almost.
Last but not least – I’m actually in love with almost all black everything.
Monochromatic is cute and all but I think an all black outfit becomes that much more chic when paired with an accessory in a pop of color.
Yes – metallic rose gold is a pop of color for me. Lolz!
KB encourages my love of sneakers big time. He bought me this amazing pair from Vans last month and I’ve been wearing them non stop. I tried for so long to be a girly girl that loves heels but I’m just not. I love sneakers and boots.
All black outfits also look totally amazing with brightly colored handbags or other colorful accessories. Ugh or imagine if I had some amazing tassel earrings from Bauble Bar. So cute.

Haha I agree *almost* all black everything! I usually try to add a piece of color myself. I caught myself wearing all black all the time and finally realized I needed to chill on the dark colors although it is incredibly flattering! Love this look girl!
