If you follow me on Instagram you noticed KB and I spent the weekend in Reno! I have been on the new job grind so when Atlantis invited us up for a stay I just about lost my mind. I had never been to Reno and I desperately needed a quick trip out of town.
KB and I are pretty guilty of forgetting about all the amazing places that are within driving distance from San Francisco. We usually aim to hop on a plane, but I was kind of enamored by the easy drive from SF up to Reno. We managed to take a real vacation and we didn’t have to go through the whole airport hassle.
Ya gotta love summer road trips!
I’ll be honest – KB and I barely spent any time in our room. There was really no need to! We were constantly out and about on the grounds of Atlantis enjoying the pool, casino, or food.
That being said – the room rocked. We stayed in the Concierge Tower so we had an awesome eagle eye view out the window. Our King size bed was crazy comfortable…and there was a tv in the bathroom! When we first walked in we were kind of confused why on earth someone would put a tv in the bathroom.
But trust me when you’re kickin’ it in the tub with a bath bomb and you’re able to watch trashy tv at the same time – LIFE CHANGING.
There were also spa product samples in the bathroom and some other little helpful items. They even tossed in a shower cap which I seriously appreciated because I’m still babying my microbladed eyebrows. #Girlproblems.
You guys – I had never gambled before this trip!
I went to Vegas with some girlfriends after I graduated from college, but we spent most of our time at the pools. I never gambled! I am hopeless at card games so had little faith I’d have any luck on the machines – but I didn’t do half bad! Some of our friends came with us to the casino and my girlfriend and I were kicking butt at some penny slot game called “Cats.”
Seriously don’t ask me how you play – I really have no idea. We basically slammed our hands down on the buttons a bunch of times and magically won $20.
We had so much fun. KB and I came back to that “Cats” machine later in the evening and won a few more bucks. All in all I’m pretty sure we broke even – not too bad for a first timer!
Dinner at Bistro Napa.
Bistro Napa was ahhhhmazing. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the staff were incredibly attentive. I’m not a big drinker, but I do have a particular taste in wines. Reno was over 100 degrees so I wanted a fresh, crisp white wine – not too dry and not too sweet. The waiter gave a stellar recommendation!
KB ordered a seafood stew to start and we all shared the artichokes. I also had the most amazing ciopinno – second only to my Italian uncle’s homemade cioppino.
Also, they brought me a big hunk of bread to dip into my cioppino – VVV important.
My personal favorite part…the pool.
Babes I was all about the pool at Atlantis. Just to be clear – there are actually two pools at Atlantis Reno.
There’s a beautiful indoor pool nestled underneath gorgeous rocks, but unfortunately that pool was always packed with kids. Such a bummer because I way would’ve rather hung out at that location. Not that I’m not into kids – but I was ready to kick back with a mudslide and the kiddy pool just ain’t the place for that.
Instead we posted up at the outdoor pool and hot tub. On Saturday it was a little crowded, but nothing crazy. KB and I actually popped back down to the pool area Sunday morning to enjoy our tea and it was just us and like two other people. We had the whole hot tub to ourselves! So incredibly relaxing.
I’d give anything to be back in that hot tub right about now.
I had a serious blast staying at Atlantis Casino. Our trip up to Reno was the perfect little getaway out of the city and I’m feeling super refreshed.
Next time I’m thinking I’ll hit up the spa, too…
