Plan With Me: Peek Inside my Erin Condren Planner + GIVEAWAY!

Every few weeks I get on some new hype. KB calls it my “flavor of the month.”

Haters gonna hate.

Whatever. This month’s flavor has absolutely been my new Erin Condren Life Planner. Basically I’ve been feeling incredibly stressed lately and I’ve found the best way to feel more together is to get organized. Enter the Erin Condren Life Planner.

I’ve heard of Erin Condren planners for years. Erin Condren herself was actually one of the speakers at the Create + Cultivate event I attended last year. I was definitely aware of her planners – but I definitely didn’t get the hype.

So I challenged the EC team on this one. I’ve rocked plenty of planners in the past, so what makes these ones so special? The team sent me a planner to test out and honestly I’ve been hooked ever since.

I’ve been really embracing my neutral lifestyle lately so went with the marble cover with rose gold accents. I added my name to the front because I work in a pretty big office – and I’m super forgetful. It would suck to leave my life (aka my planner) in some random conference room on accident.

To be 100% honest, I was sort of weirded out by the cover material when I first got the planner. The cover and dashboards are all laminated which is a big step away from the hardcovers I was used to in other planners.

I got over the weirdness pretty quickly because I realized the laminated material means you can write on it! Meaning you can jot down random thoughts on the inside of your front cover using a dry erase marker. I also snagged a little to do list insertable dashboard for random to do’s throughout the day.

As for the guts of this agenda – I went with the “neutral” color scheme.

Lolz I really branched out, guys.

How to decorate your Erin Condren planner.

To get real with you: my fave thing about the Erin Condren Life Planner is the ability to use stickers.

I’m now obsessed with buying stickers to decorate the pages of my planner. From beautiful “to do” stickers to decorative ones – I seriously need someone to disconnect my credit card from ETSY because I can’t stop.

I keep wondering why I’ve gotten so hooked on this sticker sitch and I think its because it’s therapeutic. I never really got into those adult coloring books that were super popular and I think this is a fair comparison. Decorating your planner with stickers is sort of like coloring or scrapbooking! I’ve had tons of fun with it – and obvi found all the best neutral sticker kits ETSY has to offer.

Use your planner to brainstorm.

One of my biggest beefs with other planner brands has been the lack of notebook paper. As a general human, but especially as a blogger, there’s a lot of brainstorming to be done.

I like to write down a list of post ideas each month – meaning I need at least one large lined page per month minimum. This doesn’t sound like a lot, but you’d be surprised how few planners have writing space.

The Erin Condren Life Planner features not only a lined page before each month, but also a stack of lined pages in the back.

Which is better: the vertical Erin Condren planner or the horizontal?

This is basically like asking someone if they’re team Paris or Nicole. People get super passionate about using a vertical planner or a horizontal.

There’s also an hourly version but that sounds like way too much info for me.

My simple answer is this: choose the vertical planner if you like to make lists and choose the horizontal planner if you tend to write a lot.

I am a write like I talk: a lot. I went for the horizontal planner so that I’d have extra room for my ramblings.

 Take supplies to go.

The other thing that used to annoy the bejeezus out of me with other planners was the inability to carry all the accessories. Think about it – even if you aren’t a sticker junkie at the bare minimum you need to have a pen on you.

The cool thing about the Erin Condren Life Planner is the wide coil. I’m able to slip my pens inside and clip them to the coil to take them on the go. Each planner also comes with a ziplock insert and a folder where you can stash stickers or random notes.

I also grabbed this insertable post it dashboard to add to my planner. Sometimes I have so many random little thoughts I want to note down but don’t have a great place to put them. Having post its on hand means I can word vomit onto a scrap of paper so that I can remember it later.
