What’s In My Work Bag

I don’t know about you, but I am so into these types of blog posts and videos. Us girls – we freaking love to know what other women keep in their purses.

Maybe it’s because we’re nosy.

Either way, I’m fully on board. I love reading these posts because it gives me ideas for how I want to pack my own purse. Since I’m now a working woman who spends the majority of her life at the office, I decided to give you guys a sneak peek inside my work bag.

Joining the corporate world meant I had to get strategic about packing my purse. As much as I love mini bags they are seriously not functional. I usually take a Longchamp to work because they’re chic and are bottomless pits.

They fit everything.

My mini-emergency kit.

Why yes I do keep my lady essentials in a custom bag with my name and giant sequin patches of french fries and pizza on it.

But in all seriousness I never leave the house without my self made essentials kit. Inside I like to keep pain killers, gum, tampons, blister band aids, antacids, literally any little thing I could possibly need in a pinch.

I have serious anxiety so having a kit like this helps me feel calm. Like to have my bases covered.

My glasses (because I have the eye sight of a senior citizen).

I used to leave a pair of my glasses at work and another pair at home. My eyes have been so tired lately that I now just carry them around with me so I can put them on at any time. I like to carry them in this cute little Vera Bradley case because it protects them but isn’t bulky.

My agenda.

I know it’s 2017 and everyone loves to put their lives in their phones, but I still prefer paper agendas. I recently switched over to a binder style planner and I’m never looking back. The gold leather is like a luxe neutral and the binder style means I can rearrange the contents however I like.

My gold accessories.

To match my agenda I’ve started carrying a matching gold card case and key fob. I’ve been super into using a card case lately instead of a full wallet because it fits into any size bag. I used to hate having to downsize my wallet on the weekends when I switched from my work bag to a smaller purse. Inside my little key fob pouch I keep lip balm and my favorite lipstick so that I’m not reaching around in my bag searching for them when I need to do a quick touch up.

I’m all about organization and convenience.

A healthy snack.

The toughest thing about graduating college and entering the work force has been eating healthy. Between my 6:30 am wakeup, my 45 minute commute, my 8+ hour work day, and my 45 minute bus ride back home – there’s not a ton of time to plan healthy meals and snacks.

God, I miss college sometimes.

I used to have all the time in the world to cook myself a healthy egg white scramble in the morning. I didn’t need to pack snacks because I popped back into my apartment in between classes.

Now I’m essentially out of the house from 7 am until 7 pm and it’s rough.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Special K so when I saw they made easy (and healthy) snacks for on the go, they became quick handbag essentials.

I like to switch between the Special K® Protein Bar (Caramel Pretzel Cashew is my fave flavor!) or the Special K Nourish® Bites (KB and I love Dark Chocolate Pistachio).

The Special K® Protein Bar are my usual go to because it’s an easy way to get some protein in for the day (each bar has 8 grams). I tend to reach for the Bites on days that I can’t seem to stop snacking. The fact that they’re in smaller chunks means I can have a few, eat slowly, and feel more satiated.

I basically like to trick myself into thinking that I’m eating more than I really am.

The bag of Nourish® Bites I grabbed for this shoot didn’t even last until the end of the day. No joke – KB fully raided the bag.

Note to self – keep work snacks away from boyfriend.

I like to grab my snacks from Target. We have a Target just down the road from us – it’s only like a 5 minute bus ride away which means I don’t have to lose my parking spot!

Lolz at the things we San Franciscans have to think about when grocery shopping.

Special K snacks are super easy to find in the nutrition bar and granola bar isle. Target also always has amazing deals – I made sure to link you a special offer below because you guys are my fave.

Also I snuck in a picture of Popcorn because isn’t she the cutest. #ProudCatMom
