Women Supporting Women

I’ve been following Julia of Gal Meets Glam for years now. She’s one of the OG bloggers out there - she was blogging before blogging was even a thing.

Ya’ll know I’m very basic when it comes to fashion and typically dresses are a HUGE no no. I’ve always found dresses to be fussy and too feminine. But when I heard Julia was coming out with her own line of dresses all I could think was:

I WILL BE BUYING DRESSES.

Why? Because I love the idea of supporting another entrepreneurial woman. I love the idea of supporting another blogger. I love that Julia has taken her blog and grown it into a brand. Her business is an inspiration and I was super excited to support.

That being said - I still wanted to support and be me. Dresses aren’t normally my jam, but I’ve stood firm styling these in my own way that still feels ME.

So let’s kick it off and I’ll show you the GMG dress I bought!

The Helen Dress

After digging through the full three pages of dresses Julia designed for her first launch, I decided on the Helen. I chose Helen for a handful of reasons.

First and foremost, this dress is definitely feminine but it doesn't scream girly. There's a timeless, classic feel to the silhouette and fabric. Yes - there's a dainty floral pattern, but it's subtle and doesn't shout OMG I LOVE FLORALS from the rooftop. Meaning I could totally get on board.

I also love that this dress is a crisp white. I'm not all that into color - can you tell? Lolz. I love that Julia included neutral options in her collection.

I couldn't let myself be too girly, so I styled this dress my way. I paired my Helen dress with my favorite pair of slip on Vans and my new sunnies by Quay Australia.
